Burnaby is Barbara Tutt’s hometown and she is very proud of becoming a dance studio owner in the city she has watched grow and flourish for over 40 years.  She started dancing with Betty McHardy at the age of 10 and her accomplishments lead her on to perform with a Vancouver based “Las Vegas” styled group called “Gypsy”.

She’s danced for many International Trade shows and Corporate Conventions, Expo ’86, the Canadian Armed Forces Europe, Cyprus and Northern Canada tours.  She has also danced in 9 National commercials, tapped along side Jim Hibbard with Hoofer Ink., and for many years has performed and choreographed for Sesame Street’s Bob McGrath and the Variety Club Telethon.

With 25 years of dance training experience, taking dance classes from New York to Los Angles as well as being an Honours graduate of the Al Gilbert technique syllabus, Barbara has been able to help fellow performers expand and structure their techniques adjudicating in Quesnel, Edmonton, Regina, Calgary, Lethbridge and Vancouver and guest teaching at lower mainland dance studios.

“To dance is to feel”.  Barbara feels it to be extremely rewarding knowing that she has helped many students explore and press beyond their boundaries to find that creative soul that waits to be expressed.
